I don’t have a church home so I’m not expose to this type of behavior. I saw this video a year ago and I bet you much hasn’t changed since then. Like I always say Church is BIG business. It’s no longer MINISTRY it’s INDUSTRY. Whether it be enterainment, marketing, financial or whatever. It’s all business but not God’s business.
..lol…wow… he gives a new meaning to “shakin’ your rumpskie”…but serious though, i have noticed that some people get so caught “in the Spirit” that they almost end up freakin’ in the aisles. At my old church it was like that.
this video is old but my feelings are still the same. my 14 year old son was wondering what in the world they were doing shaking their heads like they were at a head banger’s concert! dude in the red…. whatever.
The church I went to did not go to this extreme…at least not while I was there but I won’t say they wouldn’t ever. The youth performed this gospel rap song entitled “The King”. I think that is the title. It is by Lecrae and the Flame. I did a little search on the web and found the track and listened to it myself and realized that they did not do the song justice. I am about the content. The song was about the true King, Jesus, and about the fact that everything else is fake in comparison but I did not get that from the way it was done at my old church. Oh well.
By the way, I just stopped going to my old church, The Fountain. So I am looking for a church home which is not a journey I am looking forward to. Nevertheless, to God be the glory because I have determined that either God places me in a biblical church or I’ll just die still looking for one. I talk in extremes but I hope you understand …
Thanks to Pastor S for encouraging me to follow Christ rather than man. Big ups to Stand Up Ministry (Family).
God bless you Melanie. I know that God will place you where you need to be if He pulled you out of there. I wish others were as bold in faith as you are to stand up for God’s truth and not settle for foolishness. I will be doing a lesson tonight about finding a church and why membership is important for every Christian. God bless.
The dancing that’s going in that church is the same type dancing that Salome did for King Herrod that cause John the Baptist to lose his head. If they keep on dancing like that they’re going to lose more than just their heads.
I agree with brother Neil. If your church carries on like this, it will be “mega” in no time. People will flock to these places and I can guarantee you that there’s probably no true biblical teaching in that place.
This is what was going on in my church that I left in October 2007. As one that was TOTALLY caught up in the “club scene” and getting my “groove on”, I have ABSOLUTELY NO TOLERANCE for shaking my “spiritual rump” in the house of God! We are spirit and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in Spirit and Truth!
In other words, not my old “carnal nature” now dancing “for the Lawd”, but my renewed “spiritual nature” of God that gives Him and Him alone the glory! I too am currently looking for a church home and will not settle nor compromise with these so-called emergent, new-age, apostate churches that are nothing more than white-washed tombs full of dead mens bones.
Praise God I got back into contact with a Presbyrterian pastor and I am visiting his church this Sunday and I really feel drawn towards this other church and I have not even visited the church yet…http://www.rcfonline.org/. It is a Sovereign Grace Ministry church.
I hope Pastor Saiko doesn’t mind me including this but to those of you searching for a church, you should should go to Sovereign Grace Minsitry website to see if they have a ministry in your area.
Like I said before I am determined with the Lord’s help to find a biblical church. I don’t care anymore if I am the only black face. I don’t care anymore if the music does not have a sound that I can groove to…I am looking for biblical content.
I am so glad to hear that God is answering your prayers in your desire to search for a church that is teaching sound doctrine regardless of the style. Sometimes we have to ask ourselves which is more important, style or substance? I will keep you in prayer that this church will meet the biblical qualifications of being a true church that follows the word of God.
Let me apologize to all Standup staff and it’s following brethren. I was in no wise saying do not go to a local a church. It would be totally ridiculous for me to imply or make such a statement when I attended church this Sunday. However I do stand by the statement do not attend a false, mediocre and underachieving church. This is not of Neil’s standard but by the Lord God Almighty and His word. 4/26/08
