I believe many Christians hear and see what they want to hear and see. I say this with respects to this blog because many people didn’t take in consideration that I said in this particular scenario that I had preached abstinence to my son for 18 years. How could discerning Christians not see that in the scenario? Is it because I said to my son after he turned 18 years old that I hope and pray that he would adhere to God’s word and my teaching, however if you’re disobey God’s word which I hope you don’t, then at least use a condom.
Here is my point, let’s say you had a son who loved to “type rope” 100 ft in the air across a busy intersection. Let’s also say that you preached to him over and over again to stop “type roping”. Would you be sending him mixed messages or encouraging him if you said the following? Son, I told you over and over again that you should stop “type roping” and I hope to God you would stop, but since you are so stubborn, why don’t you at least put a safety net below.
How come Christians only act if though they care for spiritual things and not physical things when the scriptures says, “he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife” (1 Cor 7:33).
