Wow… I have seen this video in the past and on the onset, this LOOKS like if these songs are sung to the Lord, BUT how many of those people do you think are singing this song to God?
I am in the middle with this because if sung to the right person SOME of those songs could be adequate to sing to God, (I don’t think there is a song on Earth that could properly proclaim His glory) but there are 1 Million hymns that could have been used and many more contemporary Gospel songs that mention Jesus/God by name that could have been used in the place of those songs.
I will say this the worldliness that is creeping in our churches today is legendary. I think Mary Mary just made a song with David Banner, and if you don’t know who he is, he is a man who has made many a rap song about fornication and greed… but yet you have him guest star on a “Gospel” album? Hmph…
I dont know Bishop Lester, I dont know David Banner, and have only heard Shackels by Mary Mary, But I do know that if people spent more time in the book of psalms you wouldn’t have to look to the world for a love song. God saved us and set us apart so that we can influance the world not so the world can influance us. Someone seems to have it backwards. It is all I can do to fight against the songs of the world that I listend to when I wasn’t saved, little alone get to the house of God to have them run through my head again. You know and I know that the songs we listend to back then had moments and that those moments come rushing back when we hear them. Who knows what thoughts were rushing in during such a service as this. Leadership has responsibity and being responsible means that you consider your actions before you do them. Sounds to me like the band knew what songs were going to be played before or as soon as Lester started singing them.
KJV 2 Corinthians 6:15-17
15. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

I see nothing wrong with what he is doing…I think it’s a genuis effort to redirect the peoples attention from man to God using something that was culturally relative. Jesus used this method when using Parables He used storys and examples that was relitive to his audience but the earthly storys had a heavenly meaning….I agree that people preying on others should be exposed but we must be careful that we don’t put God in a box his message stays the same but the method by which we express that unadultarated message stays the same… Just my opinion
