To bring about authentic change, one must learn to deny himself.  Many Christians will not conform to the likeness of Christ because of their refusal to deny themselves and crucify their flesh daily.  It takes work with much prayer and of course, the Holy Spirit.

If we are truly “Born Again” by the Spirit of God, there is a war in our body when it comes to persecution.  Our natural bodies will reject any remote thought of persecution because the flesh is weak.  But while the flesh is week, the Spirit is willing.  So, what do we say regarding persecution?  [...]

Are we justified by our giving?  Are we justified by going to church?  Are we justified by visiting the sick?  Are we justified by putting away the filth of the flesh?  We should do all of these things because God has justified us through our faith in Christ and “Him” alone.
